Con WAX MEKANIX, al ser un artista americano, hemos decidido tirar del traductor ante nuestro inglés imperfecto. Y la dejamos en Castellano y en inglés.

Esto es algo muy desconocido por estos lares, pero a la vez es un bombazo internacional.

Nos remontamos al año 1982, cuando explosionó el Heavy Metal y principalmente la NWOHM, de donde salieron las grandes bandas del género. Antes de que llegaran la moda del "Hair" y se llenara todo de laca y colores chillones.

Al oeste en Philadelphia se formó una banda llamada NITRO, las cuales debutaron con un álbum titulado LETHAL en 1982, el cual por desgracia pasó inadvertido en su tierra, donde ya estaban empezando a cardarse el pelo rubio platino, pero por el contrario en Europa tuvieron una importante repercusión gracias a ese sonido más crudo y sin abalorios que practicaban.

Ya en año 1984 volvieron a reeditar ese trabajo con más temas extras principalmente para el mercado europeo y Japonés, pero por desgracia el tiempo fue diluyéndose a esta banda, ya que las modas habían cambiado en el mercado americano y no se les dio el apoyo necesario.

Alejados de los escenarios, pero no del mundo de la música en el año 2013 se volvieron a reunir y editaron LETHAL DOSE una re-grabación de su único disco y ocho temas nuevos, y ya en el año 2014 lanzaron al mundo VOLATILE ACTIVITY.

 

Pero ahora estamos en el año 2021 y nos llega un correo de WAX MEKANIX uno de los miembros fundadores de aquella legendaria banda y nos presenta su nuevo proyecto donde aúna todas sus influencias de estos años y su experiencia como productor.

Un E.P. de seis canciones donde demuestra su capacidad y talento de multiinstrumentista, donde solo le echan una mano los músicos Brandon Yeagley y Chris Bishop de CROBOT, en algún momento puntual.

Un trabajo donde se ha sentido libre para expresar lo que siente de la sociedad americana actual y donde ha podido marcar su potencial musical.

Heavy metal de la vieja escuela, sonido contundente con toques de Stoner y partes Thrash, una voz potente y clara que gusta a los amantes de Power Metal como a los del más puro Hard.

Forman este trabajo que, para mi gusto personal, es de lo mejorcito del metal este año y un soplo de frescor en el género, aunque venga de un auténtico veterano.

This is something very unknown in these parts, but at the same time it is an international bombshell.

We go back to 1982, when Heavy Metal exploded and mainly NWOHM, where the great bands of the genre came from. Before the "Hair film"  fashion arrived and everything was filled with hairspray and garish colors.

To the west in Philadelphia a band called NITRO was formed, which debuted with an album entitled LETHAL in 1982, which unfortunately went unnoticed in their land, where they were already beginning to carde their platinum blonde hair, but on the contrary in Europe they had an important repercussion thanks to that more raw sound and without beads that they practiced.

Already in 1984 they reissued that work with more extra songs mainly for the European and Japanese market, but unfortunately time was fading to this band, since fashions had changed in the American market and they were not given the necessary support. .

Away from the stage, but not from the world of music, in 2013 LETHAL DOSE reunited and released a re-recording of their only album and eight new songs, and in 2014 they released VOLATILE ACTIVITY to the world.

But now we are in the year 2021 and we receive an email from WAX MEKANIX one of the founding members of that legendary band and he presents his new project where he combines all his influences from these years and his experience as a producer.

An E.P. of six songs where he demonstrates his ability and talent as a multi-instrumentalist, where only musicians Brandon Yeagley and Chris Bishop from CROBOT lend him a hand, at some point in time.

A work where he has felt free to express what he feels about current American society and where he has been able to mark his musical potential.

Old school heavy metal, forceful sound with touches of Stoner and Thrash parts, a powerful and clear voice that likes Power Metal lovers as well as those of the purest Hard.

They make up this work that, for my personal taste, is one of the best in metal this year and a breath of freshness in the genre, even if it comes from a true veteran.
